This post has been a long time in the making and should have been done a while ago. So you might have noticed that we have been at the beach for a while and wondering “did they move there?” The short answer is “yes, sorta” the long answer is.. . I moved to Nashville 18 years ago as a young 20 yr old that was just starting out in life and I grew up there. I brought my wife down and we started a family there and my kids have only know Tennessee as their home. We have been thinking about moving to a different house because the 3 bedroom split level was getting tight for the 6 of us to live, school, and work in. The thought of buying terrified us and getting a cookie cutter rental just didn’t seem right. We were at a special nexus in our life where the eldest daughter was no longer doing ballet, I was working remote again, and the kids were all homeschooled. We thought “how about an RV?” but only heard horror stories about that and didn’t think that was the lifestyle we wanted. “AirBnBs and VRBOs?” No that would be crazy right? Right? Nope it wasn’t and here we are. We are now on a perpetual adventure with no idea where we will land staying in vacation homes across the country with a Toyota Sequoia and a 5x8 enclosed trailer. It could be back in Tennessee or the mountains of Colorado or the plains of Wisconsin. For now we are taking each day as an adventure and have life planned until at least September. We are spending a month here in South Carolina Low Country and come June we head up the east coast ending at Acadia in Maine in July and then heading west towards Wisconsin for a month. After that ??? . so yeah that’s what the Merrick’s are up to and we are totally crazy for doing it. #adventure #airbnb #vrbo #beach #digitalnomad
I like old southern roads that seem like tunnels.
