The leftovers of fall juxtaposed with the freshness of winter. Never would I have payed such close attention to these colors and shapes before I left the land of seasons for the land of constant green. With my senses cast into unfamiliarity, the unfamiliar becomes the new familiar, and the old familiar becomes the unfamiliar, curiously giving me a new eyes, ears, nose, skin and tongue for the once familiar. I also found out that the trees that I adore so much in this area are called Jeffrey Pines. That’s pretty rad! . . . . . #california #forest #evergreen #lakearrowhead #nature #natural #travel #wander #redwood #explore #art
Celebrating my mom, St. Liz, who would have been 100 today. I love you with all my heart and miss you everyday! You would be so proud of your family and my kids who you never got to know. They know all about you! Top photo: our celebration with the meal we ate almost daily when it was just us when I was in high school!! Cheese, olives nuts, a margarita and chocolates!!! Bottom row: my wedding, my mom and her little sister my Aunt Katherine, and with me and my sister as mom met Lucas for the first time. That’s her crying tears of joy! Her baby’s baby!
