I have sat in the very same place where Paul preached in Acts 17, at the Areopagus in Athens. We sat, looking at the Parthenon, reading his words, in awe that an apostle of Jesus had stood in the very same place. // Every single time I read scripture written by Paul, I am in awe that Jesus could take such a hateful man and flip his life upside down. Jesus changed Paul’s life and then Paul spent the rest of his years flipping other people’s lives upside down by introducing them to Jesus. // But my favorite thing about Paul is just how stinkin’ humble he is about his life. Today I was in awe of Colossians 1:29, where Paul says “I labor for this, striving with his strength that works powerfully in me.” Paul gives all the credit, all the strength it took to me ridiculed and persecuted, to Jesus because without Jesus he could have done none of it. // Without Jesus, we can do none of it. Our strength comes from the Lord, and today, today I am resting in that alone. I hope that wherever you are, friend, that you can rest in it too.
