STAFF FEATURE ✨ Instructor, Janna • Janna's life's work has been raising her two children. Now that they are a bit older, Janna felt she could take the time to do something for herself and dove head first into instructor training! While she has always had a passion for fitness and wellness, what attracted her to @thebarmethod was the true mind body connection necessary to really get deep into the exercises. Janna feels it is such an absolute gift to be able to lead clients through the one hour of their day where they can really connect to their body, be conscious of their breathing and push themselves past what their mind thinks their body can do - because it's always more! I slowly made my way south spending a few years in Greenwich, CT and eventually settling in Cold Spring Harbor. • Q: What is a fun fact about you? A: I consider myself to be a professional bather, so much so in fact that I refer to my bathtub as my “Aquatic Office.” I collect bath salts and all sorts of ambient accoutrements. I suppose my love of baths developed out of the necessity to soak away the shake from The Bar Method! • Q: What is your biggest challenge during a Bar Method class? A: When I’m taking class I would have to say the push ups. It is my goal to do all the push ups on the balls of my feet but I am not willing to sacrifice my form to appease my ego! It is more important to do the exercise properly with a modification than take a challenge option and not be in proper form! • Q: What is your favorite Bar Method exercise? A: Anyone who has taken my class will know how excited I get about turned out leg lifts Gavin away from the bar! I love the concentration and muscle control this exercise requires and that you can feel them working right away.
