Und nein, mein Freund und ich feiern definitv kein Valentinstag. Wir finden das irgendwie überflüssig.
Liebe kann man sich ja das ganze Jahr zeigen.
Und nicht am 14.02 weil es eben die Gesellschaft so vorgibt oder was denkt ihr zum Valentinstag?
Aber das darf natürlich jeder ganz persönlich entscheiden und es kann auch wunderschön sein, den Tag zu etwas besonderem zu machen.

If you choose singing as your job, you know that it won’t be about singing alone. You’ll need to invest a lot of time and be incredibly dedicated. You’ll also need a hint of hope and a dash of not giving a shit.

Arranging a band, repertoire, gigs, rehearsals, substitute musicians, communication, networking, social media and so on. I have gained even more respect for musicians than I already had.
.
I lost the ‘not giving a shit’-part somewhere along the way and things got to me. I got insecure and asked myself; “What am I doing on this stage? Why am I doing this to myself? Should I even be doing this at all?” At one point I just lost the pleasure of singing. There was too much pressure to achieve certain goals that I had set for myself. Yes me, myself and I did that, no one else.

I’ve been working on me for a while now. And during that (probably always ongoing) process I found that; singing is my touchstone. If I sing, how I sing, which song I start singing out of the blue. All that shows how I really feel inside. My voice literally tells me so much about myself.

Singing is a part of me, I can’t stop, I won’t stop, I will continue. For the love and fun of it ❤️

It actually already was decided last year, but now I’m mentally ready to say it out loud: “Swing & Tell is a finished story”. It was hard for me to make the decision, tell the members and to really make it official. Because a lot of heart, time and hard work has been invested and not only by me ofcourse. I still believe in the concept, but the energy and focus is not there anymore and that is ok. It is very cool to look back and feel so proud of what we’ve achieved. Playing on weddings, festivals, for fantastic organisations like @sofarsoundsamsterdam and at great venues like my favorite @paradisoamsterdam
.
It’s the first band that I’ve started and it’s been a great four-year trip of learning, discovering, meeting, falling, climbing, creating, traveling and so much more. And I’m so grateful for the journey, for the band, the band members, all the lessons, the road it took me on and for the people I’ve met along the way.

And now it’s time for new beginnings!
