Want to progress to doing standing ab wheel roll outs? Try this mechanical drop set! The ab wheel is a great tool and anti-extension exercise for learning and strengthening pelvic position. With the prevalence of anterior pelvic tilt in society and especially among young volleyball athletes we preach finding the “far end of the spectrum” as in tucking our bum even beyond the often queued “neutral spine” position. This makes sure that the tension is kept in the muscles of the core and prevents an athlete from resting on the spinous process of their vertebrae. When an athlete can no longer keep this tucked position, we call it failure, and the set is over.
