Still I rise...my skin breaths sunlight. My heart beats stardust ✨🌛 This was four years ago today. I remember wanting to get away for a couple of days, so I took solo 6 hour drive along the Oregon coast. I miss being able to just get up and go. However, I've learned that you can't run to a place in hopes that it will fill whatever is missing. I'm learning to make home within myself. Wherever I may be, against whatever life throws at me. That's one thing I'm focusing on; finding my home and my peace and my selflove regardless of my location. Not gonna lie tho, I could use a little costal drive to clear the mind. Ok, I'll settle for a back road 😅 #workinprogress #coastaldrive #selflove #home

WEIGHT TRAINING
I have always found the gym boring & I’m not someone who exercises when left alone. I have loved my yoga practice ever since I was briefly introduced to it by my mom at the age of 24.
Having poor strength and stamina (something I’m working on even today owing to child Asthama) yoga seemed like a good medium where I could take it slow initially & toughen up as I got stronger. Yoga has always worked for me because I never had fat to tackle.
Once I stopped breastfeeding however fat & inches piled up faster than I could blink. I was eating right & doing yoga but my body wasn’t responding to any weight loss. That’s when @ashdindoc told “you need to lift”; soon after I bumped in to @coach.urmi at a party & thought “if I’m ever lifting she’s got to be the one that shows me how”
So in a nutshell my top reasons were : 🏋🏽‍♀️ improve metabolism 🏋🏽‍♀️inch & weight loss 🏋🏽‍♀️strengthen to deepen my yoga practice 🏋🏽‍♀️Improve my posture & strengthen my back which is bound to get affected since I have a toddler to carry around!

let’s do a throwback because I have to keep myself distracted lol my eyes can’t be looking at the road ( I’m currently going on an adventure) my husband driving gets me car sick 😷 the way he drive is like being on a movie from fast and furious 😂

anyway can’t believe that I’ve been on this fitness journey for two years now, & it’s been a roller coaster ride. 😩 also it’s going to be a year since I got my tummy tuck , & I’m so glad that I have managed to keep my weight stable . I think that’s one of hardest because I’m lifting weights & the first thing on my mind is “oh I’m going to gain weight “ but surprisingly I haven’t which is good I guess. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I remember back than I would have in my closet is just black clothing to hide the way I look . I wasn’t comfortable with my own body . & now I’m so confident in different colors of leggings / crop tops etc...I’m so proud of how far I came . By sharing my journey I really do hope I inspire moms or women that are in same boat. ❤️

When scarabs come to mind I immediately think of the Scorpion King. There's a duality embedded in my psyche that I can't seem to shake so I watched them all while drawing this.

This was a fun drawing to do and taught me a lot about rendering a metallic surface and also the colour gold. Gold is such a cool colour - if you place your finger over the bugs head you might see why I think it is. That yellow that dominates the head takes precedence over the entire form and tricks the eye into seeing the colour gold all over. The body is primarily greens and silver with only small specks of yellow in the center and along the edge. It's cool. Reminds me of another movie reference; C3PO wasnt all gold. He had a silver leg in the first three Star Wars films.

About that Pilot gold liner. It has absolutely no shelf life once it is unsealed. Being the only gold liner on the market I suspect Pilot doesn't need a quality control department on this particular product. After I broke the seal and did some tests I put the lid back on with a satisfying airtight snap. No joke, two hours later the tip was completely dried out and useless. Trash. That said, I'd recommend not opening this pen until you're going to put it to use and use it long time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
