In the pines.
It’s a sickness.
Another beautiful day in the Catskill Mountains.

Birds of a feather...
A year ago today, rather tonight, my life changed. I was completely lost in a project that was going nowhere with little hope of opening. After a bar pie and a pitcher of beer at a local haunt, I retreated back home and climbed into bed. While thumbing through eBay, I heard a car pull in and I went downstairs to see who it was. @w113w123 and @melissakawecki were in the parking lot, after dinner in town wanting to stop by and say hello. I came downstairs in my pajamas and opened the door. “Are you up!?” asked Christian. “Sure am!” I replied. One beer turned into a few, and new friendships were made. “I can help you open; I’ll be here every Monday until you get there,” Melissa said. She never left. During our time working together, she inspired me to get back into the buying and selling game, and we eventually opened the tiny shop in that old motel I poured myself into. It was cute, quaint and real. Now I find myself a night away from opening on the same night that this amazing creature came into my life. Thank you @melissakawecki for pushing me to be my best self, encouraging me to buy that old faded 45 Star flag on that drunken night, reading through all the books I put in front of you. Thank you for simply telling me that what I created was beautiful. Everyone needs that person to hold up that old brass fixture they sat on forever but never knew it belonged. Here goes nothing.. hope to see some of y’all over the weekend. And, if you’re in the area, stop by and say hello to @stateparkvintage 🇺🇸 They have the best flag collection in the Catskills. ✌🏻
Met this beautiful creature on my way back home this evening. Shared some of my blueberries with it.
Happy 4th! It was two years ago today that I announced @theredrosemotel project and now I’m on to the next. (@visitmountaindale) Just over an hour and a half from the city, Mountaindale is being brought back to life with various new business moving in! We are so excited to be apart of this community and can’t wait to see y’all! Scroll through to see photos of the outside of our building. Cheers! 🇺🇸🍻🇺🇸
Here we go again, announcing July 4th.
Well, after two years of trying to save The Red Rose, it’s over. Moving on isn’t always easy - but if it was easy then I probably wouldn’t be doing it. I’ve been through so much during this project. Countless hours, so many splinters, numerous headaches, heartbreak, defeat and love. I’ve also met some amazing people along the way - some who even changed my life. I wouldn’t trade it for the world but it’s my time to move on. As hard as it was to drive away today I can only hope for what’s next. I’m going to miss the community , the mountains, the river, the crows, the regulars, and I’m going to miss working alongside my best friend. Thank you to everyone who stepped foot through our doors and even those that haven’t yet. This was the dream and I gave it my best and I’m gonna miss it. Thank you for all the support - I really appreciate it. ❤️
Hey folks! I’m officially moving to Kingston on Sunday and taking up residency at the @phoeniciaflea this season! Find me there under the @statelandsupplyco tent!
